SAMUEL W. BARRICK

Born in Woodsboro, September 27, 1924. Attended Woodsboro and Frederick public schools; Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA; Gettysburg College, B.A., 1948; University of Maryland Law School, LL.B., 1952. Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1952. Married; three children and six grandchildren.

Member of Senate, 1959-62. Member, Legislative Council.
Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served as navigator with U.S. Army Air Force, 1943-45; received Air
Medal for active combat missions; advanced to second lieutenant.
General law practice in Frederick County, 1952-69. State's Attorney,
Frederick County, 1954-59. Frederick County Attorney, 1963-1969.
Delegate to Maryland Constitutional Convention, 1967-1968. Associate
Judge of Circuit Court for Sixth Judicial Circuit of Maryland, 1970-85.
Chair, Charter Board, 1990. Former President of S.W. Barrick &
Sons, Inc. Former President of Frederick Realty, Inc. Former
Chairman of the Board of Directors, First Bank of Frederick. Present
or past member of various bar associations, civic associations and veterans
organizations. Member of Evangelical Lutheran Church; Former Vice
Chairman of Church Council.
