Born in Washington, D.C., March 9, 1923. Attended Washington, D.C. and Rockville public schools; University of Maryland; Cornell University, B.S., 1948; George Washington University, M.A., 1958. Landscape nurseryman. Served with the U.S. Army, 1943-46.
