A database of over 230,000 names of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) has been developed by the NPS and its partners in the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors (CWSS) project. It has been made available in conjunction with the dedication of the African American Civil War Memorial. In addition to the 235,000 names, the current data includes 180 histories of USCT units/regiments and links to the most significant battles they fought in. Click here to use the database of soldiers, regiments (units), battles, and NPS civil war parks.
