Born in Westminster, April 9, 1918.  Attended Westminster public schools; St. James School, St. James; Donaldson School, Ilchester; Western Maryland College, A.B., 1941; Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration; University of Maryland Law School, LL.B., 1949.   Died in Sykesville, Carroll County, February 10, 1999.

General Assembly:
Member of Senate, 1959-65.  Vice Chair, Judicial Proceedings Committee, 1959.  Chair, Prison Administration Committee, 1963-65.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Army, 1942-46.  Private law practice. Member, American and Maryland Bar Associations.  President, Carroll County Bar Association.  Chair, Committee to Reorganize the Maryland Court of Appeals; Potomac River Compact Committee; Carroll County Welfare Board.  Named Legislator of the Year, 1962.  Circuit Court Judge for Carroll County, appointed 1965.  Judge, Court of Special Appeals, 1979-88.  Past President, Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.  Former Post Commander, Carroll Post 31 of the American Legion.  President, Westminster Chamber of Commerce.  Commander, American Legion. Life Member, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Westminster Forest and Stream Club; Westminster Rifle and Gun Club; University Club.  Former member, Board of Trustees, Episcopal Ministries to the Aging.  Vestryman, Junior and Senior Warden, The Church of the Ascension.
