JOSPEH A. MATTINGLY
Democrat, St. Mary's County.

Senator Mattingly died on December 28, 1999 in Leonardtown at the age of 83.

Member of Senate, 1954-58.

Member, House of Delegates, 1946-50.

State's Attorney, St. Mary's County, 1950-54, 1958-61.  Appointed to Maryland Board of Parole and Probation. 1961.  State Assistant Attorney General, 1966-1972.  Special Attorney to Maryland State Roads Commission.  Judge, St. Mary's County Circuit Court, 1972-1986.

Born in Leonardtown, January 2, 1916. Attended St. Mary's Academy; Leonard Hall; Mount St. Mary's College, University of Maryland, A.B., 1938, LL.B., 1941. Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1941. Served in the U.S. Navy, Lieutenant Commander, 1941-46.  Died on December 28, 1999.
