WILLIAM K. LAMBDIN, c.1798-1860

Treasurer of the Eastern Shore, 1826-1840

William K. Lambdin was born about 1798, the son of Col. William and Dorcas Lambdin, who lived near Haddaway's ferry in Talbot County. The Lambdin children also included Robert, James M., Eliza S., and Kittina.

Early in his career, Lambdin owned a store in Easton with James C. Morsell, later he served as deputy clerk of the Talbot County Circuit Court. He was a private in the War of 1812 and aide-de-camp to General Perre Benson in 1824. From 1826 until 1840, Lambdin served as Treasurer of the Eastern Shore.

Lambdin married Mary A., possibly the daughter of Capt. Joseph Farland, and had two children: William Morsell Lambdin and Mary Eliza Lambdin. During the mid 1840s, the Lambdins moved to Baltimore City where Lambdin secured a position as a clerk. He returned to Talbot County after 1850.

William K. Lambdin probably died in the late fall of 1860, however his estate was not admitted to probate until March of 1862.
