The state-owned art collection of furniture includes some of the finest examples of furniture made in Maryland from the eighteenth century to the present. The collection is highlighted by renowned Annapolis cabinetmaker John Shaw (1745-1829), the Potthast Brothers Inc. of Baltimore (1892-1975) and McMartin & Beggins Furniture Makers of St. Michael's, MD.
