Decorative Arts:

The collection of decorative arts owned by the state spans from the early-seventeenth century to the present, and includes a wide range of examples of American furniture, silver, glass, medals, ceramics, and textiles. Highlights include original furnishings created for the Old Senate Chamber in the Maryland State House by renowned Annapolis cabinetmaker John Shaw, and the striking USS Maryland silver service, designed and executed by Samuel Kirk and Sons of Baltimore in 1906.

Other fine examples of furniture and silver from the collection are installed in the public rooms of Government House, the official residence of Maryland's governors.
