This stone structure was built near Uniontown, Pennsylvania along the National Road (present day U.S. 40) and was converted into a tavern by William Searight in 1821. Searight was also the local state commissioner of the Cumberland Road and in charge of collecting fees at the nearby “Searight Toll House” to help maintain the road.
