Works by Carl Harris (b.1950)

Carl Harris grew up in Annapolis and was one of the first Black students to integrate Germantown Elementary in 1956. Mr. Harris, who now lives in Charles County, started etching in 2018 (?) and completes all his work freehand. He writes, “Etching glass using no stencils, sand blasting or lasers brings a deeper inner connection to a picture.” Mr. Harris hopes that his work will create conversations and connections, and as the Capital Gazette reported, spread, “positivity and tranquility by creating art for people to view and enjoy.”
