THAN A 1864 MAP FROM WHICH IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN. THAT MAP HAD ONLY AN INSET VIEW OF "FORTRESS MONROE VA. COPIES BY CONSENT FROM MAGNUS PICTURE" IN THE TOP LEFT CORNER. THAT EARLIER MAP APPEARED IN JOHNSON'S NEW ILLUSTRATED FAMILY ATLAS OF THE WORLD, NEW YORK: JOHNSON AND WARD, 1864, MAP 33-34.
