THIS SECOND EDITION WAS CONTAINED IN VOL. 2, OPPOSITE 412 OF CHARLES STEDMAN'S HISTORY OF THE ORIGIN, PROGRESS, AND TERMINATION OF THE AMERICAN WAR, 2 VOLS., LONDON: 1794. IT IS ON THE SAME SCALE AS THE FIRST EDITION. THE CHANGES FROM THE 1ST EDITION WERE COSMETIC. A LATER MAP EDITION WAS PRINTED IN 1795 IN THE GERMAN EDITION OF STEDMAN'S HISTORY, PUBLISHED IN BERLIN. THIS EDITION HAS NOT BEEN SEEN BY WRITER. NEBENZAHL'S BIBLIOGRAPHY (# 203) GIVES THE TITLE OF THE MAP IN THE GERMAN EDITION AS "PLAN DER BELAGERUNG VON YORK-TOWN IN VIRGINIA". ZU STEDMAN'S GESCHICHTE DES AMERIKANISCHEN KRIEGS. D.E. SOTZMANN DEL. A. SANDER FECIT." THE SCALE IS APPROXIMATELY 1: 36,800. (SEE MAP # 295S8).
