EDITION & STATE INFO : THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM TOOLEY'S STUDY IN THE MAP COLLECTORS' SERIES #33, PP. 18-19, SINCE WRITER HAS SEEN ONLY THE PIERRE SCHENK VERSION. THE EXACT SEQUENCE AND IDENTIFYING CHARACTERISTICS ARE NOT ALWAYS NOTED.

IN THIS REENGRAVED MAP THE TITLE CARTOUCHE IS TRANSFERRED TO THE TOP LEFT CORNER AND THE SCALES TO THE TOP RIGHT CORNER WITHIN A NEW DESIGN OF A DRAPED CURTAIN. THE AVERTISSEMENT IS ELIMINATED AND AN ADDITIONAL TITLE IN LATIN IS ABOVE THE MAP. IT APPEARED IN ATLAS NOUVEAU DE DIVERSES CARTES CHOISIES DES MEILLEURS GEOGRAPHES COMME SANSON, G. DE L'ISLE ETC...
