How to View Tif & Max Files

TIF Files

If you are having problems viewing the TIF images and are seeing only an icon for QuickTime that has been "broken" - then Quicktime needs to be disassociated as the TIF viewer. See Quicktime instructions for students and Notes from the Apple Tech Info Library.

Windows XP and Windows 2000 do not have Kodakimg as a plug-in.  An alternative would be to use Alternatiff, or IRFAN.

Windows Vista users can use the included Windows Photo Gallery programs which is not a web browser plug-in. For web browser plug-in use Alternatiff, or IRFAN.

If you are using Netscape use Alternatiff to open tif images.

MAX Files

To view max files within your browser, you need to have the free Scansoft Paperport Viewer for windows installed. For Windows XP and Vista, installation is completely automated.

To install PaperPort Viewer in Netscape:

Once you have Netscape installed, go back to the software directory to /ppview and click on the setupex.exe to install the PaperPort viewer. When
