Documenting a Legacy:
Governor Thomas Sim Lee
1745-1819

Even before Thomas Sim Lee was elected Governor of Maryland in 1778, he and his wife Mary Digges Lee were well acquainted with a number of the leading figures of their time. Indeed, as the letters shown here make clear, they both corresponded regularly with many of their more famous contemporaries on both personal matters and governmental affairs.
