Cloe Woolford

Biography:

Cloe Woolford was thirty five years old when she ran away from the estate of James Riggin. She was "a dark mulatto," and described as "well made and likely for her color."1 John Riggin, the administrator of James Riggin's estate, offered twenty dollars for her return if she was caught in Maryland, and fifty dollars if she was captured outside of the state. On May 14, 1825, John Riggin posted a runaway advertisement with her description in the Cambridge Chronicle and Eastern Shore Advertiser. Riggin was located in Vienna.
