Escaped from Queen Anne's County, Maryland, 1829

Biography:

Slaves often ran during holidays, when absences were more likely to go unnoticed. The slave Isaac escaped from Kimmel Godwin's farm near Sudler's Crossroads on December 27, 1829. Godwin did not place a runaway ad until nearly a month later.1
