Biography:

Priscilla Reeves was an enslaved woman who was the property of Joseph and Mary Lyles Coombs. Priscilla was the wife of Richard "Dick" Reeves who was also enslaved at the Coombs home in the Swan Creek Neck area of Southern Prince George's County. Priscilla and Dick were the parents of five children Anne, Bill, Priss, Milley, and Mariah. In 1808, Joseph Coombs sold Priscilla Reeves and her family to his father in law William Lyles. 

In 1814, Priscilla and Dick along with four of their children escaped to British ships lying in the Potomac River. Priscilla and her family eventually settled in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the Windsor Road.
