Biography:

In 1858, Charles Stevens purchased Kent Fort Manor from the late Samuel A. Chew's estate. The land covered four hundred acres on the southern part of Kent Island. Stevens died in 1867, and the estate passed on to his daughter, Mary Ellen.1
