Perrie Leizear (b. 1809 - d. 1897)

Biography:

    Born 1808, in Montgomery County Maryland, to parents Elias and Mary Sullivan Leizear, Perrie Leizear was a respected member of the Sandy Spring community. While a carpenter by trade, he served as Sheriff of Montgomery County1862-1865 and in other public capacities to include Deputy Sheriff and Comptroller for Montgomery County District 5.  His marriage to Susan Murphy produced three children Mary Ann, Francis Thomas, and William Perrie.  A second marriage to Elizabeth E. Grimes produced no children. He died July 14, 1897 and although not a Quaker he is buried in the Friends Meeting House cemetery in Sandy Spring Maryland.
