Biography:

On Monday, August 14, 1854, John Robinson, ran away from the Charles County Jail with freeman Dick Butler and Alfred Scott.  John Robinson, a 23 year old man, was arrested as a runaway slave because he could not give a satisfactory account of his identity. Alfred Scott was arrested the same offense.  Dick Butler was arrested charged with stealing corn. Dick Butler is listed in Saint Mary's County's 1850 and 1860 Census as a laborer and farmhand.
