Biography:
Albert Gross successfully escaped from slavery in Cecil County, Maryland, in 1859 at the age of twenty. Gross was owned by William Price, a farmer in Cecilton. Though little information has been recovered regarding his life after his escape, Gross is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected to the Underground Railroad.
