We will look at devices that can remind you when or how to do things, or what to do when. Both low tech and high tech strategies will be explored.

THE NUTS AND BOLTS OF ACCESS TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (registration limited to 14)
The first half of the session will include an exploration of some various forms of assistive technologies (hardware and software) that can be applied to a computer workstation to enhance accessibility for students, employees, family members and friends.
The second half of the session will include a video on accessible computers and computer access, along with a demonstration of a screen reader and some of the accessibility barriers that individuals face when using the Internet, including websites that can't be read by a screen reader, online media that fails to use captioning or video description, and more. Trainer: Lori Markland, IT Coordinator, MD TAP. All trainings will be held in Room T-45.

FUNDING ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY: STRATEGIES & OUTCOMES (registration limited to 50)
The first half of this session will cover an overview of AT funding options, including national programs and alternative sources of funding. The second half will discuss the documentation process including preparing for funding sources. It will also address case studies of successful and unsuccessful AT.
.2 Continuing Education Units will be awarded to participants through RESNA and IACET for this program.

All trainings listed on this schedule will be held at the Workforce and Technology Center. Notices of trainings at other sites will be mailed separately. As always, groups of at least 5 can arrange for training or demonstrations of technologies at the Workforce and Technology Center. Groups residing on the Eastern Shore and Western Maryland can make arrangements to view the demonstration centers in their respective regions. The regional TAP representatives will host these demonstrations.
