Federal Sites Lack Accessibility- A new study

Study: Fed sites lack accessibility (www.FCW.com)
In their surge to get more services, online federal Web sites must not forget about accessibility for more than 165 million Americans, according to a study released today.............reported that 47 percent of federal Web sites met the W3C standards, while only 22 percent of federal sites met the stricter Section 508 guidelines.

Web Accessibility Contest

The Mid-Atlantic Consortium on Accessible Information Technology in Education is pleased to announce the First Annual Web Site Accessibility Contest.
The contest is open to K-12 schools in the Mid-Atlantic Consortium (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania). All schools and students are welcome to submit web sites. Entries must be submitted by February 28th, 2004.
