Adapted from the News section of New Mobility, November 2003
Broadway is moving toward accessibility, and this calls for a standing ovation!
By the end of this year, 16 playhouses on Broadway will be embracing new accessibility accommodations. Although all of the historical landmark theaters have been improving accessibility over the past few years, a recent agreement with the government has ensured that accessible seating areas, restrooms, entrances, exits, ticket windows, concession areas, and drinking fountains will be part of each of these theaters. Overseen by the Schubert Organization, these accommodations will lighten the experience for all theater aficionados.
