Cost: $0-$75, subsidized by Washington County BOE

Overview: This workshop presents a combination of art, science, and "make & take" as it explores the research and rationale for literacy, and in particular WRITING interventions, for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In this workshop, "writing" will be defined as any expressive visual communicative output, from Velcro and symbols (PCS) to keyboards. Using a case study approach, a literacy based writing intervention will be demonstrated from the research basis, developing protocols, creating materials, & defining and measuring objectives. Each participant will design their own writing interventions from a variety of templates and create a Home-School Journal that will be ready to use by Monday morning.
