GENERAL CINEMA OWINGS MILLS is the only Movie Theater in the Baltimore Area that has available closed captions using the Rear Window Captioning system (for moviegoers who are deaf and hard of hearing), and audio descriptions (for moviegoers who are blind or have low vision) utilizing the DVS Theatrical System.
Directions : The Owings Mills 17 is located just off of Rt. 795 northwest of Baltimore on the ring road surrounding the Owings Mills Mall.

VSA arts invites student playwrights grades 6 through 12 with and without disabilities to enter their original one-act plays exploring perspectives on living with a disability for consideration in the 2002 VSA arts Playwright Discovery Award. Award-winners will receive national recognition, a monetary award, and be flown to Washington, D.C., to see the premiere of the first place winner professionally produced at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Deadline for submissions is April 15, 2002. Submit your play today!

Arts Events and Announcements
Due to the Federal Communications Commission's mandate for the provision of described programming on TV, some cable networks are producing shows with descriptions in early 2002. Taking effect between April and June 2002, broadcasters will be required to provide a minimum of 50 hours of described prime-time and /or children's programming per quarter year. Some of the newly described programs to watch for include:
