GENERAL CINEMA OWINGS MILLS is the only Movie Theater in the Baltimore Area that has available closed captions using the Rear Window Captioning system (for moviegoers who are deaf and hard of hearing), and audio descriptions (for moviegoers who are blind or have low vision) utilizing the DVS Theatrical System.
Directions : The Owings Mills 17 is located just off of Rt. 795 northwest of Baltimore on the ring road surrounding the Owings Mills Mall.

Call the theater (410-444-3456) for scheduled showings and to make your wishes known as to what films you would like to have presented.

Submission Deadline: 4/30/02

Scholarships Available for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Musicians Applicants must:have a hearing loss of 75 DB or greater at 500 hertz and higher frequencies, be in grades k - 11, have hear loss onset at age 3 or earlier demonstrate active involvement and/or interest in an instrumental music program demonstrate music ability or inclination be citizens of the United States, its Commonwealths or Territories. The Children's Hearing Institute has announced the 2002 Evelyn Glennie National Music Scholarship Award competition, designed to encourage the pursuit of instrumental music among children who are deaf or hard of hearing. The $1,000 scholarships are based on accomplishments, interests, and involvement of the candidates in instrumental music, and will be awarded for beginning, intermediate and advanced level skills. Candidates must be residents of the United States and have hearing losses of greater than 75 DB in their better ear. The deadline for scholarship applications is April 30, 2002.
