ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY IN THE WORKPLACE
Office and Computer-Related Jobs

A live satellite broadcast, January 26, 2000

Visualizing how assistive technology equipment and modifications can be used in actual work settings is important for everyone. Consumers, VR counselors, placement specialists, and employers need to see examples of assistive technology and accommodations that work. Considering options and looking at ways that technology (low-tech- high-tech) can create new job opportunities are essential for rehabilitation programs, agencies, schools and employers to enhance employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

This live satellite broadcast, part of an ongoing series on assistive technology in the workplace, will offer participants the opportunity to interact while viewing actual accommodations and exploring various other applications of assistive technology in the workplace.

This broadcast will focus on office and computer-related jobs. Actual case studies will highlight accommodations for physical, sensory, and cognitive impairments.

Video segments will include perspectives from the person with the disability, the employer, and the rehabilitation counselor.

When will the teleconference take place?

Wednesday, January 26,2000
2:30 PM - 4:30 PM (EST)

Who should participate?
