Conference Overview
Maryland has been offering the Annual State Conference on Teenage Pregnancy and Parenting for the past 15 years. As we embark on the 16th year, we invite professionals from around the State to explore the issues concerning adolescent pregnancy from both the teen and professional point of view; learn techniques for successful adolescent pregnancy prevention and supportive programs; and network with colleagues to identify solutions to common issues and concerns.
A total of 500-700 professionals working in fields including education, health, and social work will return this year for two days of relevant and worthwhile information. On Monday, November 22, 1999, intensive full day seminars will be included on the agenda for Pre-Conference Training Day. Past topics include teaching social skills; grant writing training; and presenting to teen audiences.
On Tuesday, November 23, 1999, participants will be provided a full day of workshops lead by top experts in the field in addition to a showcase of new and exciting teen pregnancy resources.
