Cordless Telephone System
This system includes a modified V-Tech 900 MHz Cordless Telephone, with an internal amplifier circuit, and fitted with a jack into which you can plug a neckloop, headset or silhouette inductor that has a 3.5 mm mono plug. V-Tech does not modify the phone or provide the amplifier circuit. HITECH makes the modification, adding a powerful amplifier that increases the strength of the magnetic field for your t-coil, the volume produced by the speaker, and the signal delivered to the neckloop from the jack in the back of the phone. With this design, you now have the option of using both ears, if you wear two hearing aids with t-coils.
To use the phone with your t-coils, without the need for a neckloop, place the phone volume on its lowest setting, place your hearing aid on the "t" setting without changing its volume, and hold the phone to your ear. If the signal is not loud enough, increase the volume on the phone. At the highest phone volume, you may experience some distortion in your hearing aid. If this occurs, lower the volume on the phone to the middle setting, and turn up your hearing aid up until the signal is clear. To use the neckloop plug it into the audio jack in the back of the phone. Keep in mind that 900 MHz cordless phones continuously search for the best frequency for reception as you move around, and may change frequency during a call. When this happens, you may hear a slight click. This feature is important since it keeps the call signal optimized and prevents anyone from listening in on your conversation. Be sure to read the manual that comes with the phone.
The warranty on this phone is provided by the manufacturer; however, if your unit malfunctions, you must contact us prior to sending it in for repair. If we cannot solve the problem by phone, we will have you send the phone to us and we will check our modification before sending it to the manufacture for you.
