The 15th Maryland Wheelchair Athletic Games will be held at Salisbury State University, in Salisbury, MD on April 26-28, 1996. Last year 116 athletes entered the games with 60 of them being Juniors. This event regularly draws entrants for MD, DE, PA, VA, DC and NY, and are the sanctioned Appalachian Regional Games for masters, adults and juniors. Salisbury State University and the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources are the sponsors under grants from Pepsi-Cola Bottling of Salisbury and Chesapeake Rehabilitation Hospital.
The following events will be held for both Juniors and Adults:
Friday: Table Tennis, Slalom (sanctioned for Juniors only), Weight lifting, Swimming
Saturday: Track, Field, Air Guns, Archery, Banquet and Dance
Sunday: Archery
All events are run under Wheelchair Sports USA rules, which in most cases, are the same as able bodied rules.
