Irving Phillips and his son were photographers for the Baltimore Afro-American and the Baltimore Sun. (See sunspot.net millenium project for other examples of Irving Phillips's work).
These date from ca. 1948 and all except the photograph of Jackie Robinson
were taken in Baltimore. Efforts are underway to secure funding for
the cataloguing and preservation of the collection. These images
were scanned as part of the grant proposal and are for educational use
only. They are not to be reproduced without the owner's permission
in any form.
