Contract for Ventilation of State House, Annapolis

                    This agreement made this first day of
December 1881    Between C.C. Woolley Builder, on the
first part    and the Board of Public Works of the State of
Maryland on the second part, witnessible
    That in consideration of the payments herein mentioned
the said party of the first part has agreed with, and bound
himself to party of second part to supply all material and
do all the work required to carry out the ventilation of the
State House as shown in the plans specifications and
instructions of J. Crawford Neilson, architect, in two times
the first description begin the general and complete process
and the second comprising only the storm doors of Hall.
    The whole to be done under the supervision of said
Architect and subject to his approval and that of the
Board of Public Works.
    And in consideration of the faithful and workmanlike
performance of the above stipulated, the party of second
part hereby agrees to pay the sum of One thousand and
eighty dollars, upon completion of the work and a certificate
to the effect from said Architect, with his approval attached.
                  And it is here expressly agreed to and understood
that no work nor material, used in carrying out this agree-
ment shall be paid for as extra, unless in accordance
with a written memorandum made between both parties
to this agreement and a hereafter appended thereto.
    And also that the work shall be commenced at once
and pushed to completion with haste    and with
such force as architect may require, beginning
with the rooms and hall.
