133 been transferred into other areas which they felt were directly related to psychological slavery, economic and judicial bondage. This was one of many cognitive discussions within the six weeks in which participants were able to form opinions and [establish] fact[s] from statistics connecting the history of slavery to the present. This was the intent of the course study. In early 1998, INTFA introduced the concept, "The Modern Day Underground Railroad Initiative." This initiative deals with many modern-day social problems issues, including drugs and crime, to name just two) inflicted on society by new (i.e., modern-day) slave-masters. The concept involves a very detailed comparison between history and the present, and it involves innovative methods of teaching to encourage participants to serve as modern-day abolitionists in attempting to challenge and eradicate these types of social problems.
