William M. Bullitt

Bullitt (a relative of William C. Bullitt) was a former Solicitor General and a trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. During the first trial, he wrote and distributed to the press a pamphlet, attacking the veracity of Hiss's testimony.
