The State House Building Commission
created by Chapter  of the Acts of 1902
met in the Executive Office.  All the
members of the Commission were present
as follows.  Governor John Walter Smith Edwin Warfield [Governor 1904-1908]
                 Comproller Joshua W. Hering Gordon T. Atkinson [Comptroller 1904-1907]
                 Treasurer, Murray Vandiver
                 Hon. James McSherry
                 Hon. Samuel D, Schumacker 1712 Park Ave
                 Spencer C. Jones (Rockville)
                 Dr. Elijah Williams
                 Peter J. Cambell 814 Augusta St
                 John P.J. Mathews
                 Ferdinand C. Latrobe
                 Thomas J.C. Williams
                Baldwin and Pennington, Architects 311 N. Charles St
Upon motion of Gen Latrobe the Governor
was elected chairman of the
Commission
Upon motion of Comptroller Hering
T.J.C Williams was elected secretary
of the Commission.
Upon motion of Judge McSherry, Mesrs
Baldwin and Pennington were engaged
to prepare plans and specifications to
the proposed addition to the State House
and to supervise the building.
Upon motion of Gen Latrobe the
Governor was authorized to appoint
an Executive Committee of five members
of the Commission.
The Governor said he would an-
nounce the Committee hereafter.
Upon motion the secretary was direct-
ed to notify the State Librarian to have
all the books removed from the library
by May 15, and to apply to the
Comptroller for the necessary funds.
The Comptroller said he could advance
the amount from the contingent fund
of the Board of Public Works.
