Baltimore Oct 6.1902
The Executive Committee of the
State House
Building Commission met
in the Merchants
Bank Building at 11 o'clock
am.
There were present the Hon
Murray Vandiver
Chairman, Hon James McSherry,
Hon S.D.
Schmucker.
Judge McSherry moved that
the action of
the Committee in adopting
Georgia Marble
for the State House Annex
be reconsidered.
The motion was adopted by
a unanimous
vote.
Mr Pennington the Architect
reported that
the Beaver Dam Marble Company
of Maryland
had revised their estimate
for the marble and
had made a reduction of
$7,300 from their
previous bid leaving the
use of Maryland
marble $2,890 more expensive
than
the Georgia marble.
On motion of Judge McSherry
it was ordered
that Beaver Dam Marble be
used in the
construction of the State
House Annex,
for work included in the
original contract
incliding the cornice and
the portico
at a cost of $70,973, according
to a
communication from Baldwin
and Pennington
to the Chairman of the Committee
dated
Oct 2.1902.
On motion adjourned.
