Funeral Arrangements

Just as in any society, death is a part of life and arranging one's funeral services is extremely important.  In the African American community, funeral directors played an important role in making sure these services were carried out in a proper manner.  morticians also had an important role as political leaders.  These advertisements taken from the Afro-American newspaper demonstrate the care and appreciation funeral directors had for their patrons and their love ones.
