Charles W. Hanson
MSA SC 3520-15871

Biography:

Married Rebecca Dorsey Ridgely, the daughter of Charles Carnan Ridgely, October 1, 1807. Died 1853.

Associate Judge, Sixth Judicial District (Baltimore and Harford counties), 1817-1832. Probably a Federalist; later a Whig. In 1830, the members of the House of Delegates accused Hanson of incompetence, and a committee recommended that he be removed from the bench, a recommendation never acted upon. By 1850, Hanson appears to have been a resident at the Maryland Hospital for the Insane.
