Biography:

Born Robert William McCullough on January 29, 1898 in North East, Cecil County, Maryland. Son of Anna L. and William T. McCullough. Graduated Havre de Grace High School, 1916; George Washington University Dental School, 1919; National University Law School, 1929. Admitted to the Maryland Bar, November, 1928. Married; first wife Edith McCullough; three children: Robert W. McCullough, Jr.; William McCullough; Richard C. McCullough. Second wife Henrietta A. McCullough. Died, January 8, 1959 in Washington, D.C.

Served in Student Army Training Corps, World War I. Dentist in private practice, Washington, D.C., 14 years. Attorney in Prince George's County. Trial Magistrate, Prince George's County, 1950-1951; resigned for possible campaign for State's Attorney. Unsuccessful candidate for State's Attorney, Prince George's County, 1934; lost in Democratic Party primary to Alan Bowie. Campaign manager, Prince George's County, Millard E. Tydings' campaign for U.S. Senate and George L. Radcliffe's campaign for U.S. Senate, 1934 and 1940. Active in local civic and political organizations.
