Born c. 1787, in Maryland. Married, Polly Griffith, November 25, 1812; Mary Rich. Children: Arthur J. (1813-1889), Peter (1815-1873, William H. (d. 1843), Richard S. (1821-1892), Thomas A. Died, Caroline County, November 6, 1860.

Served in House of Delegates, Caroline County, 1828; Anti-Jacksonian Democrat. Served on militia committee.
