Biography:

Born Frank Clifton Norwood, September 15, 1855, in Liberty, Frederick County, Maryland. Son of Rachel Wagner and Reuben Nelson Norwood. Attended local public schools; Maryland Agricultural College, graduated 1874; University of Maryland Law School, graduated 1879; studied law with Hon. Milton G. Urner. Married Anna E. Routzahn, July 16, 1907; no children. Died January 5, 1934, in Frederick, Maryland.

Practiced law in Frederick, Maryland. Elected State's Attorney for Frederick County, 1883. Served in Maryland House of Delegates, 1890. Served in Maryland Senate 1896, 1898, and 1924. Defeated in re-election bid in 1926. Director and counsel, First National Bank of Frederick until 1931, when the bank closed. Board of Trustees, Frederick City Hospital; left large bequest to Hospital after his death. Member, Maryland State Bar Association and Frederick County Bar Association. Member, Maryland Historical Society. President, Frederick County Historical Society. Member, Sons of the American Revolution; President, Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter, 1923-1926. Member, All Saints Church. Republican.
