George T. C. Gray

Biography:

Born May 6, 1852, in Charles County, Maryland. Attended local public schools. Married Ann Matilda Gray, 1882. Seven children: Henry Deny (b. 1886), Leila H. (b. 1888), Samuel D. (b. 1890), Elizabeth C. (b. 1892), Ruth (b. 1894), Maud (b. 1895), and Ellen M. (b. 1899).

Tobacco farmer and store owner. Appointed postmaster of Najemoy, Maryland, 1890. Unsuccessful candidate for Charles County Board of Commissioners, 1891.  County Commissioner, 1895-1899; chosen as Board President. Served in State Senate 1898, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1904; Republican. Later served in House of Delegates, 1908. Delegate to State Republican Convention, 1899, 1904, 1907, 1909.
