Biography:

Born Washington, D.C., April 11, 1929.  LL.B., University of Maryland Law School, 1953.  Admitted to the Bar, December 5, 1953.

Served in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Member, Department of Employment Security Board of Appeals, 1957-1959.  Practiced with Ober, Williams & Grimes.  Appointed to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, September 5, 1968.  Served until May, 1996.  Member, National Conference of State Trial Judges, Maryland Conference of Circuit Judges, 1978-88 (chair, 1978-80). Fellow, Maryland Bar Foundation.  American Bar Foundation.  American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Member, Court of Appeals Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure, 1975-82 (chair, 1978-82). Member, Select Committee on Gender Equality.  Participant, 1969, and faculty advisor, 1972, National Judicial College.  Member, Order of the Coif; Lawyers Round Table.
