Biography:

Born Baltimore, Maryland, August 15, 1938. Son of prominent Baltimore attorney Marion A. Figinski (d. 1970) and Frances F. Karwacki. Received B.A., Johns Hopkins University, 1959. Graduated with LL.B., University of Maryland Law School, 1962. Admitted to the Bar November 2, 1962. Master of Law, George Washington University Law School, 1965. Married, Cecilia Januszkiewicz, 1981.

Began legal career as clerk to U.S. District Judge R. Dorsey Watkins, 1962. Served in U.S. Army in Judge Advocate General Corps, 1962-1965, attaining rank of Captain. Staff member, Senator Joseph Tydings, 1965-1970. Entered into private practice. Practiced with firm of Melnicove, Asch, Greenberg & Kaufman. Appointed to Supreme Bench of Baltimore City by Governor Harry Hughes, 1980. Defeated in judicial elections that same year. Returned to private practice with Melnicove, Kaufman, Weiner & Smouse, 1980-1989. Practiced with Weinberg & Green (later Saul Ewing), 1989-2005. Joined Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos, 2005.
