Biography:

Born, Baltimore, Maryland, 1880. Parents J. Abner Sayler and Anna Maria Scharf. Attended Marston's School for Boys, Baltimore. Attended Johns Hopkins University, 1898-1902, and Harvard Law School. Admitted to the Bar, December 20, 1904. Married, Helen Primrose Sayler; three children, J. Abner Sayler III, William Primrose Sayler, Mrs. Benjamin Perry Collins. Died, May 20, 1957.

Entered private practice upon admission to the Bar. Later served as judge in Western Police Station. Named U.S. Commissioner, 1917. Appointed chief magistrate, Traffic Court by Governor Nice, 1935. Appointed Judge, Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, 1937. Served until mandatory retirement at age 70, 1950.
