Biography:

Born Baltimore, Maryland, September 1, 1877. Graduated from Princeton University, 1898 and University of Maryland Law School, 1900. Admitted to bar, 1900. Married. Died, Baltimore, April 2, 1937, of pneumonia, after a long period of illness.

Served as Magistrate of Police Courts, Baltimore, 1912-1916. Appointed United States Commissioner, 1916. Entered Officers Training Corps during World War I, 1917-1918. Returned to position as commissioner following conclusion of military service, November, 1918. Elected to Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, 1934. Died in office. Remembered as an intensely diligent member of the bench, who continued to work long hours even while he suffered from protracted illness.
