William Luke Marbury Sr. (1858-1935)

Biography:

Born December 26, 1858 at "Wyoming" the family home in Prince George's County. Son of Fendall Marbury and Catherine Taylor Marshall. Attended public schools in Prince Gerorge's County and at Clifton Preparatory School in Virginia. Took special classes from Johns Hopkins University. 1878-1879. University of Maryland School of Law, J.D., 1882. Admitted to the bar c. 1882. Formed a legal partnership with Alexander Robertson 1882-1890. Entered into a legal partnership with his uncle Colonel Charles Marshall and Henry J. Bowdoin. 30th President of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, 1908-1909. 15th President of the Maryland State Bar Association, 1910-1911. Died October 26, 1935, Baltimore, Maryland.

Appointed United States District Attorney for the District of Maryland 1894-1897.
