Biography:

Born, Baltimore, Maryland, 1906.  Son of Enoch and Mary Harlan, cousin of Henry D. Harlan, Supreme Bench, 1888-1914.  Attended Friends School.  Graduated, University of Maryland, 1931; University of Maryland Law School, 1934; class president during law school.  Married, Katharine Hatch Harlan; two children, John Marshall Harlan and Katherine Reyburn Harlan.  Died, Baltimore, December 20, 1966. 

Deputy City Solicitor, 1948-1956.  Elected to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, November, 1956; sworn in November 21.
